  His DOB [taken from his death record] obviously conflicts with that of his sister Letitia and there are two possibilities. First, since his DOB in the 1901 Census is shown as 15 Mar 1871, in 1911 his age is 40, and in 1921 his age is 50; so he could actually have been born in 1870/1871 although this would place his mother's age in the late 40's at the time. A second possibility stems from his death record, which shows his parents as "Henry" SARTY and Mary WAMBOLDT; this raises the possibility that he was the biological child of one of Mary (WAMBOLDT) SARTY's children [perhaps William Henry 1848, who married after Willis' birth] and was raised by his grandmother.
