• Notes

  Don Shankle's transcript of his birth/baptismal record has him as “Emma“. The DOB for his son William is given as 1864, 1869, and 1871 in various records. However, both the 1871 and 1881 Censuses place William's birth in 1864, one year before his marriage to Sophia HAUGHN. Further, these Censuses consitently palce daughter Louisa's birth in 1861. So it would appear that children Louisa, Catherine, and William are by an otherwise unknown first wife. [Bob H]
