Nancy FOGG
-
Name Nancy FOGG Birth NH
- On 3 Dec 1941, Mrs. Edna FOGG (who appears to be either separated or divorced from her husband) announced the engagement of her daughter, Avis, to PFC Herman A. PLOEN, USMC. Note that this announcement appears 4 days before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
But Avis and Herman apparently never married as, in all subsequent newspaper articles unitl 1964, Avis is Miss FOGG. Moreover, a 1945 article which mentions Mrs. Edna FOOG and her daughter, Avis FOGG, also mentions Edna's adopted daughter, Nancy FOGG. Thus a suspicious person might infer that daughter Nancy actually belongs to Avis, whose impending marriage was overtaken by the events at Pearl Harbor.
