Father Ephraim SLAUENWHITE, b. 5 Mar 1838, Halifax County, NS

(Age 82 years) Mother Catherine JOLLIMORE, b. 15 Apr 1844, Terence Bay, Halifax, NS

(Age 70 years) Marriage 12 Oct 1862 Halifax, Halifax, NS
[2] Notes - The only indication of the marriage of Ephraim SLAUNWHITE to Sarah Ann JOLLIMORE is an unsourced IGI record. The 1881 marriage record for Anne SLAUNWHITE, age 19, gives her parents as Ephraim and Sarah Ann and gives her place of birth as Terence Bay, which would support a marriage in the 1862 time frame.
An 1867 birth record for an Angeline SLAUNWHITE gives her parents as Ephraim SLAUNWHITE and Catherine JOLLIMORE and her place of birth as Terence Bay. Two years later, a Catherine SLAUNWHITE is born at Terence Bay to Ephraim SLAUNWHITE and Catherine HARTLAN. And later still succeeding children are born to Ephraim SLAUNWHITE and Sarah Ann JOLLIMORE.
The 1871 through 1901 Censuses show the family of Ephraim and Catherine SLAUNWHITE, while in 1901, it becomes the family of Ephraim and Sarah SLAUNWHITE. And clearly, it is the same family.
I believe that the Catherine HARTLAN entry in the civil birth register is a mistake (hardly the first), and that Sarah Ann and Catherine JOLLIMORE are the same person. [Bob H]

Notes - Stillborn. His death record gives his parents as [Indecipherable] and Sarah SLAUENWHITE. An examination of the Sarah SLAUENWHITE's of Terence Bay who were of child-bearing age in 1866, leaves only two candidates.
One couple--James Jacob and Sarah Jane (SLAUENWHITE) SLAUENWHITE seem highly unlikely since a child born in Feb 1866 would be exactly ten months after a previous birth and would have two brothers named James. Also, of those two brother named James, one lives to at least 1901, and the other is recorded as a live birth. That leaves Ephraim and Sarah (JOLLIMORE) SLAUENWHITE, who do have space in their birth order. [Bob H]
