Notes - Albert Ronald DICKER first marries Dorothy Robinson, who dies in 1950. He then marries Madalan YOUNG, who survives him in 1998, and his obit lists two children--Gwen COAKLEY and Janet DeBAIE. Herbert DeBAIE marries Ruth BURGESS in 1995 after her first husband, Bruce HUBLEY, dies in 1993, and neither Gwen or Janet belong to Bruce. Since Madeline is 63 in 1995, she cannot be the mother of Herbie's four children--Gwen, Janet, Valerie, and Terry, so they have to be from a previous marriage.
Madalan (YOUNG) DICKER dies at Musquodoboit Harbour on 5 Feb 2009 and her obit appears in the HC-H on 7 Feb 2009. I haven't been able to dig up a copy, but I did find an abstract of same and it lists only two children, Gwen COAKLEY and Janet. So I don't think the fact that Valerie and Terry don't appear in Albert's obit was an inadvertent error; rather, it seems more likely that they simply don't belong to Madalan or Albert.
My best guess is that Gwen and Janet belong to Madalan YOUNG and Herbert DeBAIE, but Valerie and Terry DeBAIE belong to yet another wife [or significant other] of Herbert. Assuming that's right, there is no way of knowing for certain who was Herbie's spouse #1 and who was spouse #2 until some new info is found.
